Shoptimised 3.0: Scaling Merchant Growth through CSS program

Shoptimised addressed the challenge of dormant retailer product feeds by launching Shoptimised 3.0. This managed service, powered by a caching engine 4x faster than industry standard and integrated with the Google Ads API, automatically optimises under-indexed inventory for high visibility, driving incremental growth.

The Challenge

As an established CSS, Shoptimised identified a core challenge: many retailer product feeds remain largely dormant, as bidding models naturally prioritise high-velocity top sellers. For a CSS, whose primary objective is to surface the most suitable offers from across a merchant’s entire inventory, this created a ceiling for growth. To scale, Shoptimised needed to evolve beyond standard management models and become a structural enabler capable of unlocking this untapped inventory.

The Approach

To address these challenges, Shoptimised pivoted to incremental sales, a managed service powered by their Shoptimised 3.0 CSS infrastructure. Defined by "Agility at Scale" Shoptimised 3.0 introduced a valuable caching engine that processes data 4x more often than the industry average, and refreshes feeds four times daily as standard. This ensures that on high-stakes days like Black Friday, pricing and stock data are always as up to date as possible, and by integrating performance rules via the Google Ads API, the platform automatically identifies under-indexed inventory and re-optimises it for high-intent visibility. Crucially, this strategy prioritized protecting existing merchant performance and generating incremental visibility without impacting established placements.

This is supported by an "Academy" model of internal growth, where entry-level talent is systematically trained into high-level product and performance leads, ensuring the business's operational resilience matches its technical innovation.

The Results

Since the launch of version 3.0 in June 2025, Shoptimised has achieved 13% account growth and an 8% increase in total revenue, underscored by a 90%+ client retention rate, which serves as a powerful testament to the long-term viability of their CSS-driven business model. To support this growth, the company has expanded its workforce by 26% over the past year, specifically targeting high-value roles in development and product management. These internal investments have allowed Shoptimised to deliver specialised expertise across highly active verticals, most notably in Sporting Goods, Fashion, and Home & Garden.

Our technology acts as a catalyst for growth, enabling us to maximise merchant visibility within the digital landscape. This growth is a direct result of the program’s ability to foster innovation and support scalable, long-term business development for our customers. Bradley Hall, Performance Director, Shoptimised
